Toronto Maple Leafs rookie Nazem Kadri had every reason to feel right at home Thursday night.

Kadri, drafted seventh overall by Toronto, returned to the rink where he starred for the OHL's London Knights and scored in a 4-0 pre-season victory over the Philadelphia Flyers in front of 9,099 fans at the John Labatt Centre in London, Ont.

Kadri had a hand in Lee Stempniak's opening goal 4:12 into the contest and later converted Niklas Hagman's behind-the-back pass to make it 2-0 with 6:06 left in the first period.

It marked Kadri's first goal at the NHL level.

"I didn't know whether I should celebrate or not celebrate," said the 18-year-old prospect.

Kadri later was high-sticked by Flyers captain Mike Richards, who chided him for embellishing.

"He said 'You're going to have to be tougher to stay in this league,'" Kadri said. "I didn't know you have to take a stick to the jaw."

Mikhail Grabovski fooled Flyers goaltender Johan Backlund with an off-speed shot with 34 seconds left in the second period, and Cristian Hanson completed the scoring 14:26 into the third.

Hagman and Tomas Kaberle had two assists apiece, while Joey MacDonald and James Reimer combined for a 17-save shutout.

"We had energy right through the 60 minutes," Maple Leafs head coach Ron Wilson. "Some players were better than last night [Wednesday], some weren't."

Toronto iced a fresh lineup of skaters, with Kadri, Hagman and Viktor Stalberg were the only holdovers from a 3-2 loss to the Boston Bruins the night before.

That pre-season tilt featured five fights compared to four on Thursday, when Maple Leafs defenceman Luke Schenn won a one-sided bout with Flyers agitator Dan Carcillo.
