Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario will be inducted into the Rogers Cup hall of fame, the tournament sponsor and Tennis Canada jointly announced on Tuesday.
Sanchez-Vicario, 37, will be honoured during a ceremony on July 29 at Uniprix Stadium in Montreal, site of the women's tournament. The retired Barcelona native reached the Canadian Open final five times in her career, winning in 1992 and 1994.
Sanchez-Vicario won 69 titles in her career, including three French Opens and a U.S. Open, and was a Grand Slam runner-up on eight other occasions.
She was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, R.I., last year.
It was previously announced that German great Boris Becker will be inducted into the Rogers Cup hall on July 21 during the ATP Masters men's event in Toronto.
The Rogers Cup Hall of Fame was started in 2006. Previous inductees have included legends Roy Emerson, Ivan Lendl, Martina Navratilova, John McEnroe and Canadian-born players Carling Bassett-Seguso, Robert Bédard and Sébastien Lareau.
Novak Djokovic of Serbia is the defending champion of the men's event, which begins tournament play on Monday.
There is guaranteed to be a new women's champion this year, with the recently retired Justine Henin winning the event last year. The women's tournament begins on July 28.
