Massa fastest in first practice for Canadian Grand Prix
Ferrari star undeterred by drying, cool track conditions

Montreal Grand Prix. He set the fastest time of the morning. (Jacques Boissinot/Canadian Press)A still-drying track and cool temperatures didn't deter Ferrari's Felipe Massa from setting the fastest lap in the opening practice session at the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal on Friday.
The Ferrari's one minute 17.553 second lap on the 4.361-kilometre course was just ahead of emerging star Robert Kubica's 1:17.809 in the BMW Sauber, and McLaren-Mercedes' Heikki Kovalainen in 1:18.133.
Nick Heidfeld was fourth in the BMW, with Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen fifth and defending race winner Lewis Hamilton sixth in his McLaren.
A second free practice goes Friday afternoon, with a third on Saturday morning and qualifying later in the day.
The race is Sunday afternoon.
Hamilton comes into the weekend leading the Formula One standings with 38 points to Raikkonen's 35 and Massa's 34.
