Heavyweight boxer Jameel McCline will fight Samuel Peter for a title at Madison Square Garden in New York on Saturday, despite a new report that adds his name to the list of athletes linked to an online pharmacy investigated by U.S. authorities.

The New York Daily News, citing an anonymous source close to the investigation, reported Thursday that McCline received more than $12,000 US worth of steroids, human growth hormone and related drugs over a 21-month period from Signature Pharmacy in Orlando, Fla., during 2005-06.

Ron Stevens, the state's athletic commissioner told the newspaper on Friday that the fight will go on, as McCline has never tested positive for drugs in pre- and post-fight tests in New York or elsewhere.

Signature is being investigated by the Albany County, N.Y., district attorney's office and was raided by authorities more than seven months ago.

Major League Baseball has been investigating claims that players received shipments from the pharmacy, including Troy Glaus of the Toronto Blue Jays, Scott Schoeneweis of the Mets, Jay Gibbons of the Baltimore Orioles, and Rick Ankiel of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Safety Rodney Harrison of the New England Patriots and quarterbacks coach Wade Wilson of the Dallas Cowboys were given suspensions by the NFL after their names surfaced in the investigation. Both admitted using banned substances, though the retired Wilson said he used human growth hormone to help alleviate symptoms of his diabetes.

McCline (38-7, 23 knockouts) was named as Peter's opponent for the 12-round World Boxing Council bout two weeks ago. The six-foot-six, 270-pound heavyweight had been scheduled to fight on Sept. 22 against Vitali Klitschko, but that bout was scrapped due to Klitschko's back injury.

Peter was originally supposed to face Oleg Maskaev, who won the WBC title by beating Hasim Rahman in August 2006. Maskaev pulled out due to a back injury and will be eligible to get a shot at the Peter-McCline winner when he's healthy.

McCline, 37, possesses size but has lost in the biggest fights of his career, against Wladimir Klitschko, Chris Byrd and in January to Nikolay Valuev. He is fighting for the first time since the Valuev fight, where he sustained a knee injury.

The hard-punching Peter (28-1, 22 KOs) has rebounded from the only loss of his career, a close decision in a fight in which he knocked down Wladimir Klitschko three times, to post four consecutive wins, including a pair over James Toney.
