Injuries have forced Tommy Haas and Andy Murray, two of the world's top men's tennis players, to pull out of the French Open.
Haas, who is ranked 10th in the world, is nursing a sore shoulder. Murray, ranked 11th, has an injured wrist.
The tennis circuit's second grand slam of the season begins Sunday at Roland Garros and continues through June 10.
Spain's Rafael Nadal won the clay-court tournament 2006. Belgian Justine Henin won the women's title.
