The verdict is in: David Beckham will not be leaving Real Madrid for Major League Soccer's Los Angeles Galaxy before the end of the Spanish league season.
"One thing is clear, he [Beckham] still has six months left in his contract," Real Madrid sporting director Pedrag Mijatovic said Monday. "He has to complete his contract."

Beckham, 31, hasn't played for Madrid since agreeing to a five-year deal on Jan. 11 reportedly worth more than $250 million US, including endorsements, with the Galaxy.
"Like many other players who have done important things in this club, he wants to play," Mijatovic said. "But we have promising young players and I think that right now they have an advantage over him [Beckham] because the future of Real Madrid is more important than the players that have been here for many years."
According to European reports, Beckham's managers were working on a deal that would allow the English midfielder to leave Real Madrid early and start with Galaxy this spring.
Madrid coach Fabio Capello denied he'd left Beckham off the squad purposely after having retracted comments made last Wednesday that Beckham would never play again for Madrid after signing the deal.
After Beckham made his announcement, Capello said Beckham could practise, but wouldn't play again for the Spanish club.
Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon took a shot at Beckham on Jan. 16, suggesting the soccer player is washed up and saying he had no choice but to leave the Spanish team for the U.S. because no top European club wanted him.
