The Texas Rangers released pitcher Antonio Alfonseca on Monday.
Alfonseca, 34, posted a 0-0 record and a 5.63 earned-run average in 19 relief appearances for the Rangers, who inked him to a minor-league contract on Jan. 28.
The veteran right-hander was sidelined most of May with a sore elbow and returned June 6, but pitched only twice before being designated for assignment.
