St. Louis Rams quarterback Marc Bulger will be sidelined a minimum of three weeks after suffering a badly bruised throwing shoulder in Sunday's 38-28 loss to Arizona.

Bulger had already missed two games earlier this season after spraining the acromio-clavicular joint in the same shoulder Oct. 17 against Indianapolis, and the injury wasn't fully healed when he was sacked hard by Cardinals safety Adrian Wilson in the third quarter. Bulger also suffered a concussion on the play.

An MRI taken on Monday revealed no extensive damage to the shoulder, but Bulger will not attempt to rush back until fully healthy.

"I will definitely be a little more cautious then I was," he said. "I will definitely let it heal a little bit more than I did this past time."

Jamie Martin will again fill in as starter. Martin has thrown for 2,297 yards with 14 touchdowns and nine interceptions in eight games this year.

The 35-year-old Weber State product started the Rams' back-to-back victories over New Orleans and Jacksonville last month and has completed 68.9 percent of his passes for 693 yards, with four touchdowns and five interceptions.
