The Edmonton Oilers finally fell from the ranks of the undefeated Tuesday night at the Staples Center.
Unheralded netminder Jason Labarbera made 23 saves as the Los Angeles Kings skated to a 3-1 victory over the visiting Oilers.
For Labarbera, a native of Burnaby, B.C., it marked just his seventh NHL appearance since being drafted 66th overall in 1998.
Joseph Corvo, Dustin Brown and Eric Belanger counted goals for the Kings (3-1-0), winners of three in a row.

Marc-Andre Bergeron scored for the Oilers (3-1-0), whose loss leaves the Nashville Predators as the lone unbeaten team in the NHL Western Conference.
Ty Conklin totalled 32 stops, but suffered his first loss in three career appearances against Los Angeles.
