Vincent Damphousse is calling is calling it quits after 18 NHL seasons. The four-time all-star centre finishes with 1,378 NHL games played, posting 432 goals, 773 assists for 1,205 points.
Damphousse was drafted sixth overall in 1986 by the Toronto Maple Leafs. He spent six years with the club, winning the 1991 NHL All-Star MVP award before moving on to Edmonton, Montreal and San Jose. He helped the 1993 Canadiens win the Stanley Cup, scoring 23 points in 20 games.
"I loved getting up every morning and heading to the rink, and I will miss being in the dressing room with the guys, however I'm looking forward to the next stage of my life," said Damphousse in a statement, Wednesday.
