Former Calgary Stampeders wide receiver Marc Boerigter agreed Tuesday to a one-year tender offer with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Financial details were not disclosed.

Boerigter, who was eligible for restricted free agency, spent the 2004 NFL season on injured reserve after tearing a ligament in his right knee in a 21-19 pre-season loss to the Cleveland Browns last Aug. 29.

The native of Sioux Center, Iowa, has totalled 31 receptions for 578 yards and eight touchdowns in 19 games with Kansas City.

As a rookie in 2002, he tied the NFL record for the longest pass play from scrimmmage with a 99-yard touchdown reception.

Boerigter ended a 21-month tenure with the Stampeders when he signed a seven-year pact with the Chiefs on Feb. 7, 2002.

Boerigter caught 63 passes for 1,032 yards and eight touchdowns as a CFL rookie, after signing with Calgary out of Nebraska's Hastings College on May 8, 2000.

He had 48 receptions for 931 yards and 11 touchdowns during his second season with the Stampeders.

Boerigter capped off the campaign with a 68-yard touchdown catch in Calgary's 27-19 win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the 89th Grey Cup, its second CFL championship in four years.
