The Chicago White Sox began the week by signing 17 players, notably third baseman Joe Crede and second baseman Willie Harris.

Also signing Monday were pitchers Jon Adkins, Jeff Bajenaru, Neal Cotts, Felix Diaz, Kris Honel, Bobby Jenks, Arnie Munoz, Paulino Reynoso, Matt Smith and Sean Tracey, infielders Pedro Lopez, Casey Rogowski and Wilson Valdez and outfielders Joe Borchard and Ross Gload.

Contract terms were not disclosed.

Crede, 26, hit .239 in 144 games with 21 home runs, 69 runs batted in and 67 runs scored last season, his fifth with Chicago.

Crede sports a career average of .256 with 52 HRs, 189 RBIs and 166 runs in 372 MLB games.

Harris, also 26, appeared in 129 games last season and led the White Sox with 19 stolen bases.

He batted .262 with two HRs, 27 RBIs and 68 runs.

Harris is a .240 hitter with four HRs, 44 RBIs, 104 runs and 39 steals in 266 games over four MLB seasons with the Baltimore Orioles and White Sox.
