Regina police have charged a second man after Saskatchewan Roughriders placekicker Paul McCallum's house was pelted with eggs and manure dumped on his property.

Douglas Wayne Grimstad, 46, was charged Tuesday with mischief and scheduled to appear in court Dec. 15.

Mark Conrad Lehmond, 31, was arrested Monday for allegedly threatening to burn down McCallum's northwest Regina house shortly after he shanked a costly field goal in Saskatchewan's 27-25 overtime loss to the British Columbia Lions in Sunday's CFL West Division final.

Lehmond is also headed to court Dec. 15.

"It's not a nice situation for the Rider Nation," figured Roughriders offensive lineman Gene Makowsky, a native of Saskatoon.

"It's the old story, one bad apple. It's just not the way 99.9 per cent of Roughriders fans are."

Roughriders president Garry Huntington announced Tuesday that convictions stemming from Sunday's incident will be accompanied by lifetime bans from home games.

"This goes far beyond a game," Hungtington explained. "For those involved our message is very clear – they are no longer welcome in Taylor Field."

Danny Barrett, head coach of the Roughriders, expressed concern that Sunday's hijinx could dissuade players from signing with Saskatchewan.

"The stigma about Regina, about Saskatchewan, is nobody wants to come here," Barrett said. "This just only enhances that."

McCallum, meanwhile, continued to apologize for missing an 18-yard field goal in overtime and paving the way for Lions kicker Duncan O'Mahony to boot a 40-yarder for the decisive points.

"I've got to take it on the chin and I've got to face everybody, but I'm not going to give up and put my head down," McCallum said. "I've got to keep going."

"We won the game," O'Mahony said. "But the way he was treated was classless.

"He faced up to it, he came out in front of the cameras and admitted his mistake. But it just takes a couple of crazies to commit a classless act."

McCallum, a 34-year-old Vancouver native, has played for Saskatchewan since 1997.
