Canada (3-0) has lost only one of its last 14 world junior games. Ukraine fell to 0-3 in the B Pool and has been outscored 29-0. Along with Austria, they won promotion from the second-tier world championship last year to this year's tournament.
Goalie Josh Harding earned the shutout for Canada, which is 3-0 against Ukraine in world junior history. Barring an injury or illness to starter Marc-Andre Fleury, the Regina Pats netminder will remain on the bench through the remainder of the tournament.
Ukraine goaltender Yevgeniy Galyuk was pulled just 14 minutes, 17 seconds into the game after Canada scored its third goal.
In the second period, Brent, Tambellini and Dawes beat Illia Tarankov for their first goals of the tournament, while Paille notched Canada's second power-play marker of the contest. Crosby, who on Sunday became the youngest player to score at the world junior, and Dawes also found the net to make it 9-0 Canada after 40 minutes.
Carter, who is 12th in Ontario Hockey League scoring with 19 goals and 42 points this season, put Canada on the board at the 33-second mark, redirecting a Brent Burns pass.
Canada upped its lead just 44 seconds later when Stewart deked Galyuk, tucking the puck through his legs.
Seabrook's high shot from the faceoff circle drove Galyuk from the Ukraine net.
The record for the number of goals scored by a Canadian junior team in one game is 18. Canada shut out Poland 18-0 on Dec. 30, 1986 and beat Germany 18-2 on Dec. 27, 1985.
In the lone A Pool game on Monday in nearby Hameenlinna, Russia defeated Austria 3-1 to improve to 2-0-1.
The first three teams in each group advance to the medal round with the top team in each bypassing the quarterfinals to the semis.
The fourth and fifth teams in each pool battle for seedings for next year's tournament and to avoid being among the two teams relegated to the world B championship.
