Steve Thomas traded to Ducks

The Anaheim Mighty Ducks added some veteran leadership for the upcoming playoffs at the NHL trade deadling.

On Tuesday, the Ducks acquired Steve Thomas from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick in 2003.

In his 19th season, Thomas has also played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, the New Jersey Devils and the New York Islanders. He has 401 goals and 497 assists in 1,179 games over his career.

Thomas, 39, is earning $1 million US this season and will be an unrestricted free agent July 1.
