Canadian Travis Kilgour has been released by the Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League.

"Travis felt he wasn't getting the playing time here and wanted to explore other options," Bandits GM Kurt Silcott said in a statement Monday.

"We felt with his long tenure with the Bandits we would honour his wishes and release him."

Kilgour, a native of Niagara Falls, Ont.,, collected 55 goals and 60 assists in 51 games with the Bandits over six seasons.

He was taken 17th overall in the 1994 MILL entry draft.

His older brother, Rich Kilgour, is one of the original Bandits.

He was with the team when it was formed in 1991.
