Christine Nesbitt claimed the national women's 500-metre long-track speedskating title Sunday to complete a flawless weekend at the Canadian Single Distance Championships in Calgary.

Nesbitt, who picked up her fourth victory after taking gold in the 1,000-, 1,500- and 3,000-metre races, crossed the finish line in 37.862 seconds in her second race, a personal best for the London, Ont., native.

The victories ensure Nesbitt will qualify for both the upcoming World Sprint and the World Allround Championships.

Winnipeg's Shannon Rempel finished second, thanks to her two races of 38.516 and 38.461. Tamara Oudenaarden of St. Albert, Alta., finished third (38.579 and 38.537).

On the men's side, Edmonton's Jamie Gregg had a strong second race of 34.807 to claim first place in the 500-metre.

Winnipeg's Matthew McLean was second after a 35.054 in his second race and Muncef Ouardi of Montreal finished third with times of 35.177 and 35.122.
