The Montreal Impact continue to defy the odds.

Eduardo Sebrango scored twice as the Impact shut out Santos Laguna of Mexico 2-0 in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions League soccer quarter-finals at Olympic Stadium on Wednesday night.

"They have one foot in the semifinals of the CONCACAF Champions League," CBC Sports broadcaster Nigel Reed said after the final whistle sounded.

Few gave them much of a chance of winning, but buoyed by a crowd of 55,571 fans at Olympic Stadium, the Impact stunned Santos and are now firmly in the driver's seat for the second contest of the two-game playoff March 5 in Mexico (CBC Bold, 10 p.m. ET).

But can the Impact complete the job and win the quarter-final series? Is this as far as they will go? Do you think they can prevail in Mexico to advance to the semifinals?
