After months of trying to land Maximiliano Urruti, Toronto FC has traded the Argentine striker.
Toronto has sent the 22-year-old Urruti to the Portland Timbers for 26-year-old American forward Bright Dike, a natural 2015 MLS SuperDraft first-round pick and allocation money.
The Timbers also received an international roster spot for the remainder of the 2013 season.
The move comes days after Toronto fired president and GM Kevin Payne.
Urruti saw just 37 minutes of action with Toronto, in two substitute appearances.
Dike underwent surgery after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in the pre-season. He was on the Timbers' bench for their 4-0 win over Toronto on Saturday.
He scored nine goals in 12 games for Portland last season.
