It seems like the Toronto FC have finally found the international star they were looking for.

According to reports from the Daily Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe has agreed to join the Canadian MLS team on a four-year deal worth £90,000 ($154,000) a week.

The 31-year-old, who has been relegated to a backup role after Tottenham acquired Roberto Soldado in the summer, is looking for more playing time as he aspires to be part of England's World Cup squad in 2014.

Defoe has 19 goals in 55 caps for the English national team and appeared in the 2010 World Cup.
