The Montreal Impact traded defender Bobby Burling to Chivas USA on Friday for an international roster spot in 2013.
Burling played in 23 games for the San Jose Earthquakes last season.
The American-born player is a veteran of five MLS seasons, appearing in 71 games for both San Jose and Chivas USA.
