The USL W-League kicks off its regular season May 11, with the addition of Central South Carolina Cobras, FC Jax Destroyers and VSI Tampa Flames bringing the number of teams to 30.
Six of the eight Canadian teams are in the Central Conference, which consists of the Hamilton FC Rage, Laval Comets, London Gryphons, Ottawa Fury, Quebec City Amiral, Toronto Lady Lynx and Rochester Ravens.
The Fury, who will host this year's title tournament, lost 6-1 to the Atlanta Silverbacks in last year's championship game.
The Vancouver Whitecaps and Victoria Highlanders are in the Western Conference.
They are the first Canadian teams in action with Victoria hosting the Whitecaps on May 13.
Hamilton entertains London on May 18 while the Toronto Lady Lynx open at home to Rochester on May 19. London kicks off when Laval comes to visit on Many 26, while Ottawa plays at Rochester the same day.
Quebec City opens June 1 against visiting London.
The W-League should get some more of the soccer spotlight this year with the decision of the WPS to take a one-year hiatus.
The W-League is divided into three geographic conferences: Eastern, Central and Western Conference. The Eastern Conference split into three five-team divisions.
The Central Conference has seven teams in a single division, while the Western Conference has eight teams.
W-League clubs will play 12 to 14 game schedules in 2012. Eleven teams will take part in the playoffs, with one team moving on from each conference.
The three conference champions will join the Fury in Ottawa in a Final Four format championship, July 27-29.
