(Graham Hughes/Canadian Press)Major League Soccer released its schedule on Wednesday for the 2010 season, which will be bisected by the World Cup and will feature the debut of Toronto FC's new natural grass field.
TFC will roll out the green carpet at BMO Field on April 15 when it hosts expansion team Philadelphia Union for the first home game of the season. The Union will be facing the Reds for the first time ever.
Toronto, playing in its fourth MLS season, will begin play in Columbus against the Crew on March 27.
The Reds' final game before the World Cup break is on June 5, when they host the Kansas City Wizards. Toronto will resume play on June 26 against the L.A. Galaxy.
Canada Day will feature a matchup at BMO Field between TFC and the Houston Dynamo.
Toronto hosts the defending champion Real Salt Lake on Aug. 28. Its final regular season game before the playoffs is on Oct. 23 against D.C. United.
TFC will play each squad in the 16-team league twice, for a total of 30 games.
The playoff format remains unchanged, with the two division champions and six wild cards qualifying. Toronto is trying to make the playoffs for the first time. The MLS playoffs will begin on Oct. 28.
The Nutrilite Canadian Championship schedule will be announced Thursday.
