Toronto FC's roster was left untouched by the Philadelphia Union during the 2009 MLS expansion draft on Wednesday.

The Union opted not to select the likes of Ali Gerba, Nick Garcia, Carl Robinson and others that the Reds left unprotected.

Amado Guevara was also on the list, but it was highly unlikely that the Union would have considered him, given the Honduran's high salary and upcoming hiatus to compete in the World Cup next year.

Columbus forward Alejandro Moreno and Chivas USA defender Shavar Thomas were among the 10 players that the Union picked from the 15-team league.

Moreno and Thomas both have international experience. Moreno, who has played for Venezuela's international team, has scored 43 goals in eight MLS seasons. Thomas has spent time in the Jamaican national squad's lineup.

Philadelphia, the 16th team to join the MLS, will start play on March 25, 2010, at Seattle. Toronto FC plays Philadelphia in their home opener on April 17 at BMO Field.
