The Bundesliga club said that the German Football League gave its approval Wednesday to the plan.
Germany goalkeeper Enke died after throwing himself in front of a train on Nov. 10.
His widow later said he had suffered from depression for years.
Hannover said the plan for the special shirts with a black No. 1 on the chest was initiated by United States defender Steve Cherundolo.
Hannover first wore the shirts for its league match against Schalke last weekend.
