AS Roma captain Francesco Totti scored three goals in a span of 22 minutes on Sunday, scoring all of his team's goals in a win over Bari.

Totti's three goals came in the first half at Stadio Olimpico in Rome. Marco Andreolli scored the lone goal for Bari in the 74th minute.

Totti, coming back from knee surgery, helped Roma into a tie with Bari at 18 points, well down in the Serie A standings.

He scored on a penalty kick, free kick volley and from in close to complete the hat trick.

AC Milan kept pace with league leaders Inter Milan on the strength of a 4-3 victory on Sunday.

Clarence Seedorf, Marco Borriello, Alexandre Pato and Ronaldinho scored for Milan at San Siro in a 4-3 victory over Cagliari.

Seedorf scored from the centre of the penalty area six minutes in, after Borriello had drawn Cagliari goalkeeper Federico Marchetti out of his goal.

Alessandro Matri tied the score for Cagliari in the ninth minute when he was left alone by Milan defender Kakha Kaladze inside the area. With Cagliari dominating momentarily, the visitors went 2-1 up in the 30th with a goal from Andrea Lazzari, Milan's defence again having left a player unmarked inside the area.

Milan responded with two goals in the space of three minutes. Borriello headed in the rebound after a Pato shot in the 38th and Pato then collected a pass from Ronaldinho before scoring with a precise shot into the top corner.

Ronaldinho made it 4-2 with a penalty in the 62nd, celebrating with his usual samba dance. Nene replied seven minutes later to make it a tense finish.

Milan moved into second place with 25 points but could drop back to third later in the day if Juventus defeated Udinese. Inter defeated Bologna 3-1 Saturday to improve to 32 points.

Sampdoria now has 24 points after beating Chievo Verona 2-1. Marco Rossi put Sampdoria up early, with Sigueira Luciano handicapping Verona by fouling out 44 minutes into the contest.

Giampaolo Pazzini gave Sampdoria a two-goal lead in the 65th minute, with Andrea Mantovani cutting the margin in half late in the game.

Parma beat Fiorentina 3-2 in a battle of clubs jockeying for fifth place. Davide Lanzafame scored the winner in the 67th minute for Parma, with both Fiorentina goals coming from Alberto Gilardino.

Livorno upset Genoa 2-1 on the strength of a 90th-minute goal from Nico Pulzetti.

In other action, Atalanta beat Siena 2-0, Catania drew Palermo 1-1, and there were no goals in the Napoli-Lazio contest.
