D.C. United striker Jaime Moreno is recovering from sports hernia surgery on his right abdominal wall.

Moreno, 34, underwent the procedure Saturday in Munich, Germany.

The six-time all-star is expected to heal in time for next season.

Moreno is the all-time leading scorer in MLS, posting 122 goals and 99 assists in 295 matches over 13 seasons with the MetroStars and United.

The Bolivian native had 10 goals and 10 assists in 25 matches last season, reaching the 10-10 mark for fourth time in MLS.
