Red Bull New York striker Juan Pablo Angel led the voting for Major League Soccer's All-Star First XI, which was announced on Thursday.
Angel was one of three first-time picks, joining Chivas USA defender Jonathan Bornstein and FC Dallas midfielder Juan Toja.

Last year's league MVP, Canadian Dwayne De Rosario of Houston Dynamo, was second in the voting and is one of eight returning all-stars.
De Rosario, of Scarborough, Ont., has three goals in 10 games for Houston this season. He recently returned to the Dynamo after helping Canada to a semi-final showing at the Gold Cup.
The other players making at least their second appearance on the all-star team are: Houston's Ricardo Clark, New England's Matt Reis, Shalrie Joseph and Michael Parkhurst, Kansas City's Jimmy Conrad and Eddie Johnson, and D.C. United's Christian Gomez.
The All-Star game is July 19 against Scottish Premier champs Celtic FC at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo.
The First XI is not necessarily the starting 11 for the game, as coach Steve Nicol of New England will select the starters based on player availability and tactical considerations. Nicol was named all-star coach by leading the Revs to the highest point total in MLS through June 25.
Nine of the First XI players have appeared with their country's national team, including Bornstein, Clark, Conrad, Johnson, Parkhust and Reis with the U.S.
Angel and Johnson, the league's leading scorers, could be paired at forward in the all-star game. Both have nine goals this season and neither has played in all of their games.
Angel didn't make his debut until a few games into the season and has his nine goals in just eight games. Johnson has spent time with the U.S. team and has his nine goals in nine MLS games.
Conrad and Joseph will make their fourth appearances in the all-star game, while Gomez and Reis will be making their third appearances.
The First XI was determined by online fan balloting, MLS coaches and GMs, media and players. On July 10, Nicol and the rest of the coaching staff will pick five additional players and two more players will be selected by the league.
