Toronto FC continued building a roster for its inaugural MLS season, drafting four players in Thursday's supplemental draft.

Toronto FC selected Jarrod Smith, a forward from the University of West Virginia, with the first pick overall.

Smith, a member of New Zealand's under-20 squad, had 14 goals and four assists in 16 matches for the Mountaineers and was a semifinalist for the Missouri Athletic Club (M.A.C.) Hermann Trophy, awarded to the top male player in NCAA soccer.

With its second selection (14th overall), Toronto took Trinidad and Tobago international Daryl Roberts, a midfielder-forward out of Liberty University.

Toronto then selected Hunter West, a midfielder-forward at the University of South Florida, with its third pick (27th overall).

West led the Bulls in scoring in each of his three years on the squad.

Toronto FC selected Tyler Hemming of London, Ont., with its fourth selection, 40th overall.

Hemming, a 22-year-old midfielder, played at Hartwick College, leading the Division I school, based in Oneonta, N.Y., with 10 goals and an assist.

Hemming also has represented Canada, making his debut with the under-20 team in December 2004.
