Mihira Lakshman is a Toronto-based writer and broadcaster. "My first experience with soccer was when I was five years old. My mom told me there was a soccer practice after school, so I waited around for the kids to show up, but nobody came. When I returned home, I realized that I had the time wrong. Rather than go back to park, I switched to softball. By the time I was 16, I came to my senses, played on the varsity soccer team in high school, and joined a club team. Soon I was hooked on the FIFA game for Playstation, and the rest is history."
