Scott Russell hosts Popsicle Soccer Day in Canada on CBC for the 5th year. This year, Soccer Day is surrounded by 2 quarter-finals matches from the FIFA Women's World Cup in Germany.

Slave Lake, AB — As the community rebuilds from the forest fire devastation, the Alberta Soccer Federation has volunteered to work with the local soccer organization to put on a community soccer event. Various activities are being developed around soccer in the hopes of creating a positive mood for the kids and adults alike.

New Minas, NS — The Gunn Baldursson Tournament. This is the largest women's tournament in Canada and was created as a memorial to Gunn Baldursson, a third year, pre-med student at Acadia University who died in a car accident in 1987.

Toronto, ON — The Docks hosts the Eastern Championships of Street Soccer Canada. "Playing for hope. Playing for change". This is the motto of Street Soccer Canada, an organization that promotes the game to homeless and less fortunate people in the community. The winning members of this year's tournament will join Team Canada at the HOMELESS WORLD CUP in France.

Ottawa, ON — Women’s USL Soccer – Hamilton Rage vs Ottawa Fury. The Fury Women take on the Hamilton FC Rage on the pitch at Algonquin College. There will be full media coverage and promotion organized by the Fury and a Game Day Promotion – All Youth Players Wearing their minor soccer jersey will get into the game for a toonie.
