#sidelines: Canadian team looks ahead
Canada's bid at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup ended in disappointment Tuesday after a 1-0 loss to Nigeria.
Despite high expectations and a top-6 world ranking, Canada's embarrassing 0-3 record at the tournament has led to negative reaction across the country by news media organizations and throughout social media networks for days. Many fans and pundits have pointed fingers at the players, coach Carolina Morace and even the Canadian Soccer Association.
But that hasn't seemed to affect any of the Canadian players. Here's how some of them reacted via Twitter hours after their final defeat:
