Striker Eduardo Sebrango is returning to the Montreal Impact.
The Cuban-born Sebrango announced his retirement in April but asked the team last week to return to training with the team. He was to be available for Wednesday night's game against Puerto Rico.
The move came a day after head coach Marc Dos Santos resigned and was replaced on an interim basis by sporting director Nick De Santis.
Sebrango played for the Impact from 2002 to 2005 and again in 2009 and 2010. He has also played for Vancouver, Rochester and Hershey.
"Eduardo can certainly help us, but he's not coming in to be the saviour," said De Santis, whose team began the North American Soccer League season with a 2-7-3 record. "Mostly, it's his presence in the locker-room that will be good for everyone."
Sebrango has 98 goals in 257 career pro games.
