Slovakia coach Vladimir Weiss says key defender Martin Skrtel has recovered from a broken foot and will be ready for the World Cup.

The Liverpool centre back broke a metatarsal in his right foot in the Europa League on Feb. 25 and hasn't played a game since.

The 25-year-old Skrtel was included in Slovakia's 29-man preliminary World Cup squad on Tuesday. Weiss said he saw "no problems" with the defender as he is in full training and has a month to get ready for the tournament in South Africa.

Skrtel said in a statement Wednesday that he was training with his former hometown club before he joins the national team.

Weiss also selected strikers Robert Vittek and Filip Holosko in the squad despite both being injured.
