Brazil playmaker Kaka has been cleared to participate in final practices before the national side heads to South Africa this week for the World Cup.

A former FIFA player of the year, Kaka struggled with a groin problem and a thigh injury through parts of Real Madrid's season and failed to play at his best.

Striker Luis Fabiano practised Monday after being cleared following a leg injury that kept him from playing for Sevilla in the Copa del Rey final earlier this month.

Brazil will face North Korea on June 15 in its World Cup opener, and then plays Ivory Coast and Portugal in the group stage.
