Italy forward Vincenzo Iaquinta has been diagnosed with a minor back problem after sitting out a World Cup training session Monday.
Team physician Enrico Castellacci said Iaquinta would be re-evaluated Tuesday.
Also, centre back Giorgio Chiellini missed training for the second day with a minor left calf-muscle problem and was listed as day-to-day.
The Azzurri are training at high altitude — 2,000 metres — and will be based in Sestriere for the next two weeks, with day trips to Brussels on June 3 for a friendly with Mexico and to Geneva two days later for a warmup match with Switzerland.
At the World Cup, the defending champion opens against Paraguay on June 14 and also faces New Zealand and Slovakia in Group F.
