So this became very difficult and extremely frustrating for me.

My fave watering hole here in Winnipeg - X-Cues on Sargent Ave still have the FIFA World Cup Soccer where die hard fans are glued to the CBC for every single match - it's a culture of its own merit - Azzurri Grinta (spirit) or not.

Soccer is about celebrating our nations' mutual passion, accepting our differences, and despite the competitiveness of it all our countries, coming together for the same purpose...to celebrate this elite worldwide sport.

So - in all fairness - my intention is NOT to root for another team because they WILL LOSE.

Promise.

This afternoon, a teenager named Jessie has been rooting, from the start, for Germany. Jessie is a big fan of Lukas Podolski (which sounds Polish to me, but I digress).

So...keep your fingers crossed Jessie!

I'm rooting for you - I'm your biggest fan!!!
