I have chosen England for very simple reasons. Growing up with my Brother and Father surrounded by the greatest game football (soccer) in the world. I am from British descent and citizenship.
My father grew up in England and has played for a professional team. This was back in the day when the ball was like a medicine ball and it weighed 25lbs wet. I was able to play it at the highest level possible for my age all the way until1 16 year old. I represented Quebec at the Nationals and played for different communities in Montreal. So my involvement and passion for football is high.
I even named my dog after Wayne Rooney. So it's kind of funny when we are watching the game and the announcer shouts out "Rooney!"... My dog slowly leaves the room for he thinks he just got yelled at.
I'm a HUGE England supporter and would never miss a game. Not for a friendly not qualifier. I would call in sick if I would miss the game. I even have a tattoo commerating my love for the British Football. I scream and yell at the television just in case they can hear me. I sometimes think I am on the bench, but I soon snap out of it. The world cup is the highest football stage in the world.
People say American football or hockey or any other sport is the biggest.
WRONG!!
32 Teams in 32 Days! Everyone is watching. Even if you don't like the game you will some how find a little love for the game. You will end up choosing a team for what ever reason. This is what I wait for every 4 years. Its non stop love for the game. Best players get together and battle it out for a trophy and the legacy of being the best team in the world.
You will never find a following where the whole country will come together and feel the passion surrounding them. The smell of the pitch, the sound of their cleats walking out of the dressing room and the dirty shirts! Man I love this game!!
"Put me in Coach, Put me in!" Are the words I would tell Capello.
I see no reason why we don't do well this year. We had an amazing season, all of the players except for Hesky! Why is he even going? Useless!! Sometimes I wonder when they completely miss the net or make a unforgiving pass the question I mutter to myself "How much are they getting paid?" I think having Capello as a Gaffer is great for the team. Very disciplined and experienced. I do not see anyone in our group really upsetting us.
We have to stay focused and take our chances when we get them. USA is probably the toughest of the three but even then.... 3-1 Will be the outcome.
Also I think if we are to get anywhere we have to bring in Crouch!
He is like our secret weapon. He always scores when he comes on half way through. Have you ever tried marking someone 6'7?
All in all I can't wait for the kickoff! I love England's chances and I will be anticipating the win!!!
C'mon ENGLAND!
My laces are all tied up and I am ready to go!!!!!!
