Roller coaster of emotions

Henrik Laursen-Danish Flag, following the national anthem at the opening ceremonies at the Midsummer Fest.jpgThe Cameroon vs. Denmark game was exiting but not always for the right reasons. There were way too many defensive errors. However, two goals still beat one goal, so we are very pleased that DK could finally score, to our own advantage...

We had a large group at the Scandinavian Centre in Burnaby, where the annual Midsummer Festival took place at the same time. It was a very social event, where the Danes received great support from the other Nordic countries.

Henrik Laursen1.jpgCarlsberg beer was consumed along with akvavit, Danish meatballs with red cabbage, smashed potatoes and gravy. Great time was had and nothing but positive comments from the large crowd attending the Midsummer Fest.

If we can just eliminate some of the defensive follies, we should have a good chance against Japan. I believe Japan is certainly a team that has certainly performed better than their pre-tourney results would have suggested.

Congratulations to our Dutch friends on going through to the next round! Now Denmark has to win to advance as goals for/goals against favour Japan.

Thursday, June 24th is circled on the calendar, so let's go:
We're Red, We're White  -  We're Danish Dynamite!!!! Kom saa, Danmark!
