The World Cup has begun and it is really happening in beautiful South Africa!

Just wanted to say that I am so proud of South Africa and feel honoured to be part of this phenomenal moment in African history!

My family sent me some photos from Soccer City Stadium.

It really made me feel like I was there.

The opening ceremony was amazing and so was the vibrant and energetic concert the night before. K'Naan sure rocked the stage and it was nice to have a Canadian on that stage!

The game between South Africa and Mexico was really thrilling. I never thought I would burst into tears when South Africa scored the first goal of the 2010 World Cup. Of course, I have to give a special shout out to Bafana Bafana super star Siphiwe Tshabalala for scoring that fabulous goal.

The South African team really showed their true spirit on the field by working hard and playing a really superb game. Mexico also played well and tied the game 1-1 for a final score. 

A pic of my husband, Michael, who is Canadian born but nevertheless supports and loves South Africa just as much as me!!!!!
