Beckham, well he does what he does best...dressing up

By: Angelo Studham, Montreal

Hmmm... Is the question I asked my self after hearing that Rio Ferdinand will not be playing at all. Was he 100% fit anyway? Well the question may not be answered but the replacement is.

Ledley King very much the same style as Ferdinand. Very strong and I think over all a better younger version of Rio. As long John Terry keeps him in line and makes sure that he is the last man back it's fine with me.

Steven Gerrard made captain? IT's about time! He should have had it long before Beckham and all of his entourage took over. Gerrard is a proven leader and a really great ambassador for the sport. Well spoken and he keeps his nose clean.

Beckham, Well he does what he does best. Dressing up in fancy suites or attire alike. He looks good but he is too old now. 35 yrs in football terms spells out retirement or even injury.  Even if he was fit, he cannot play the whole game due to stamina, he has no left foot, he is not fast enough and he cannot head the ball to save his life. When he is given space he does well. But that is when he is given space......... He needs to get in top space first!

England's midfield I think is the perfect combination. Very strong and experienced in the middle and very fast on the flanks (wings). We have many options for this with the speed of Lennon, Joe Cole and possibly Sean Wright Phillips.

With the pace on the flanks I can see how Cappelo wants to play it. Speed on the outside and either to Peter Crouch who will be our Saviour in the tournament. Then crouch will shield the ball or lay it of to someone in a better position to score. Rooney perhaps? Rooney will shine in this tournament as well.

For our  dreaded goalie situation..... I have to stay positive because neither of the goalies are convincing enough for me to say that they will win it for us. James will start no doubt but I think Hart should be runner up. You can tell he want to be on the field just as much as I do......

C'mon England!!!!
