Ghana vs. Germany
Player to watch for Ghana – Asamoah Gyan: The 24-year-old forward has two goals for Ghana at this tournament and has been his country’s most dangerous attacking player
Player to watch for Germany – Lukas Podolski: With Miroslav Klose suspended for this match, it will be up to the lively Podolski to lead the line up front for Germany.
The Ghanaian perspective: "We all know Germany has a good team, but we believe we have a good team as well. What we need to do against the Germans is be compact because when we play this way it brings us victory." — captain John Mensah
The German perspective: "Ghana are fast and can play well on the counter, they don't shy away from one-to-one duels as they are strong, they have players who can put in fantastic sprints." — coach Joachim Low
World Cup head-to-head: Ghana and Germany have never met at the World Cup.
Australia vs. Serbia
Player to watch for Australia – Brett Holman: The attacking midfielder has scored Australia's only goal in this tournament, and the Socceroos would be well-advised to try to get him the ball more often.
Player to watch for Serbia – Milan Jovanovic: Serbia's goal-scoring hero against Germany, Jovanovic is a standout two-way midfielder who can make things happen in the final third of the field.
The Australian perspective: "We have to remain positive, this is another of our strengths as a team. Without a belief that we can really win our games here, then there's not much point." — defender Lucas Neill
The Serbian perspective: "We are a team with character and are never satisfied with our achievements. The win [against Germany] was more than just three points and will inspire us to aim for greater heights." — coach Radomir Antic
World Cup head-to-head: This match will mark the first World Cup encounter between the two countries.
