What's at stake
If the prognosticators are right, then both Algeria and Slovenia simply fill the ledger in Group C. But, after Saturday's draw between the U.S. and England, a win by either Algeria or Slovenia might complicate the group.
Injuries and suspensions
No injury concerns for either team.
Player to watch for Slovenia
Robert Koren — Slovenia's captain and midfield conductor carefully dictates his countrymen's every move. Throughout qualifying, Slovenia was a pragmatic passing team because of his shrewd decisions and movements.
Player to watch for Algeria
Abdelkader Ghezzal — The Siena striker has come into his own over the last few seasons, developing into a well-rounded attacker who fearlessly runs through defenders.
Key matchup
Milivoje Novakovic vs. Antar Yahia — Two players who are easily instigated and whose tempers sometimes enhance or spoil their talents. It will indeed be fun to see their inevitable clash inside Algeria's 18-yard box.
Slovenian perspective
"We head to South Africa proudly. Our goal is the second round, and we will try to achieve that." — striker Milivoje Novakovic
Algerian perspective
"There [is] a lot of willingness on the part of players, who have given a great deal in these last few weeks." — coach Rabah Saadane
