The Canadian Soccer Association is still looking for a men's coach but has found a technical director.
The association has scheduled a conference call for Tuesday to announce the new hire.
The post of techinical director has been vacant since Stephen Hart left it to take over as national team coach. He stepped down last month as coach in the wake of an 8-1 loss in Honduras.
According to the job description in the CSA posting, the technical director "is responsible for the overall management and direction of the technical growth and development of soccer in Canada, including player and coach development/education, the youth, para, beach and futsal national teams programs, and for technical-related organization within the Canadian Soccer Association."
The job calls for "extensive experience in, and knowledge of, soccer at the domestic and international levels, both amateur and professional, with proven coaching and scouting experience, and a demonstrated record as a sports educator."
