Mauro Camoranesi has started practising regularly with Italy again, but now fellow midfielder Claudio Marchisio is working out on his own.
Camoranesi injured his left knee a week ago and sat out friendlies against Mexico and Switzerland.
Details on Marchisio were not immediately available, but the Juventus player was seen running on his own up and down the pitch during the Azzurri's first training session after arriving in South Africa on Wednesday.
Another midfielder, Andrea Pirlo, was the only player not to train at all at Southdowns College near Pretoria. Pirlo could miss the entire group phase after injuring his left calf against Mexico.
Italy opens Group F play against Paraguay on Monday in Cape Town.
