Costa Rica in party mode after Italy upset at World Cup

Costa Rica has a population of around 4.8 million. All of them were partying after Los Ticos’ win over Italy. Even the babies. 

Fans spilled onto the streets across the country after Los Ticos’ shocked the four-time World Cup champions 1-0 to book their spot in the Round of 16, 

For a visual indication of the scope of the party, this is a scene in San Pedro after the win. 

 

It’s the first time Los Ticos will advance from the group stage of the World Cup since 1990.
