Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder David Beckham was voted Major League Soccer's player of the week Monday.

Beckham was the star of Week 6, leading the Galaxy back from a two-goal deficit on the road to earn a 2-2 tie with Real Salt Lake Saturday.

Real Salt Lake took control of the game early, scoring two goals in the first 18 minutes, before Beckham netted his first goal of the game in the 36th minute, scoring on a rocket of a shot from outside the penalty area.

L.A. tied the game just four minutes later. This time Beckham scored on one of his trademark free kicks when he bent the ball around Salt Lake's defensive wall and into the top left corner of the goal.

After sitting out most of the 2007 season due to injury, Beckham has been in top form in 2008, scoring three goals in six games.

This is the fourth time this season that a Galaxy player has won the award. Beckham earned the honour for Week 2, while teammate Landon Donovan won the award in each of the last two weeks.

L.A. is back in action on Saturday playing host to the New York Red Bulls.
