Brazilian playmaker Kaka was named the Golden Ball recipient for the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup, given to the tournament most valuable player, while teammate Luis Fabiano won the top scorer award.
Kaka was at his creative best throughout the run to Brazil's third Confederations Cup title, with two goals and two assists to his credit, and was second in shots taken for the tournament with 21.
The 27-year-old, who played his last six seasons with AC Milan, signed with Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid this off-season.
Teammate Fabiano, who scored five goals for the tournament, placed second in voting for the MVP award along with winning the Golden Boot.
He tallied against Egypt during the wild 4-3 win in Brazil's opening match of the tournament, and added two more when the Selecao humiliated Italy 3-0.
But the Sevilla striker was at his best in the Confederations Cup final against the United States.
With Brazil down 2-0, Fabiano scored goals in the 46th and 74th minutes to drag the Samba Boys even with the surprising Americans before captain Lucio completed the comeback in the 84th minute.
U.S. striker Clint Dempsey was third in the MVP voting, conducted by FIFA.
Dempsey scored the opener against Brazil in the final as the Americans almost pulled off the upset and had three goals over the tournament, good for a tie for second in scoring with Spanish striking tandem Fernando Torres and David Villa.
