The Canadian teams of Maëlle Ricker and Dominique Maltais, and Christopher Robanske and Robert Fagan won the final snowboard cross team events of the World Cup season Sunday.
Ricker, from Squamish, B.C., and Maltais, from Petite-Riviere-Saint Francois, Que., finished ahead of Italians Michela Moioli and Raffaella Brutto and Americans Faye Gulini and Callan Chythlook-Sifsof in the women's final.
“I think Maëlle and I did a great job," Maltais said in a release. "Maëlle was riding really well and really strong today. It was really fun and we are really happy to have finished first especially with the guys. With those two wins it’s been a great day for us.”
On the men's side, Robanske of North Vancouver, B.C., and Fagan, of Squamish, B.C., topped two American teams, Nick Baumgartner and Bate Holland, and Jonathan Cheever and Seth Wescott.
