Calgary's Jan Hudec finished second in Friday's final training for a men's downhill as the World Cup season resumes in Germany after the world championships.
Christof Innerhofer of Italy posted the fastest time, covering the 2.18-kilometre (1.35-mile) course at Garmisch-Partenkirchen in one minute, 09.17 seconds, Max Franz of Austria was third.
Erik Guay of Mont-Tremblant, Que., was seventh, with Manuel Osborne-Paradis finished 12th. Benjamin Thomsen of Invermere, B.C., was 26th.
Fresh snow and fog forced organizers to shorten the course to a super-G length for the second straight day.
Innerhofer failed to medal at the worlds in Schaldming, Austria. But he won three medals when the worlds were held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen two years ago — gold in the super-G, silver in the super-combined and bronze in the downhill.
